Description
The Junior Lifeguard Club is an aquatic skill development program based on personal-best achievement that builds on skills they already have. Junior Lifeguard Club members work to develop and improve their swimming technique and will be introduced to lifesaving sport events. Once they have completed the intro program and received their certificate, members will be able to join the appropriate level based on their age. Prerequisites are 50m of front crawl and tread water for one minute (completed YMCA Swim level "Star 1").
Location
Located in the heart of the quickly growing Canary District, our newest Centre of Community is an 82,000 square foot, fully accessible facility. It features something for everyone, including two pools, an indoor track and gymnasium, weight room, cardio machines, green roof, kids' play structure, cycling studio, functional fitness training space, and more. Camp programs are available during school breaks throughout the year.

Notes
Goggles are recommended for this class. A Junior Lifeguard Club swim cap will be provided to new participants in the first 2 weeks of the program. Participants should wear this for each class.
CANCELLATION POLICY AND MAKE UP CLASSES
Participants who withdraw from the course more than 7 days prior to the start of the course will receive a full refund. Participants who withdraw from the course less than 7 days prior to the start of the course will receive a refund less 50% of the course fee. No refunds will be granted once the course has started.
Make up classes will be offered if a class is cancelled by the YMCA. Make up classes are not offered if the child misses a class for personal reasons. Participants who are registered in the wrong level will be withdrawn.
